SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SOCIAL SERVICES COMMISSION

Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the Social Services Commission will be held on Monday, December 12, 2005 beginning at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the following business:

4.      Public Input: Public comment is permitted only on items not on the agenda that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the body. A chit should be completed indicating items for public input.

 

5.      Formation of a Relocation Appeals Board: Discussion of and possible action on a presentation by Nia Tang, Sr. Administrative Analyst, Redevelopment Agency regarding the formation of a Relocation Appeals Board and possible Commission involvement.

 

6.      Committee Reports: Discussion of and possible action on committee recommendations and action steps.

 

A.     Youth: Commission work plan items related to Youth in Santa Monica

 

B.    Self-Study: Effective working methods and strategies

 

7.      Old Business

 

A.     FY 2005-06 Social Services Commission Budget:  Discussion of and possible action on the budget ($2,235) for the year.

 

B.    Attendance:  Discussion of and possible action on attendance rates at Commission meetings.

 

C.    Commission Vision: Discussion and possible action on the creation of a vision statement for life in Santa Monica

 

D.    Follow-up:  Discussion of and possible action on any issues or tasks from prior meetings.

 

8.      New Business

 

A.     Smoke-free Apartments: Discussion of and possible action on a recommendation regarding smoke-free apartment units.

 

B.    City Budget Process: Discussion of and possible action on the budget planning process.

 

C.    Emergent Issues: Discussion of and possible action on any new and urgent issues that fall within the scope of the Commission.

 

D.    Announcements/Staff Updates

No other business will be conducted at the meeting.
