Through its
six divisions, the Department of Community and
Cultural Services works to enhance recreational and
cultural opportunities for the enjoyment of Santa
Monica residents and visitors.
The
Administration Division (1685 Main Street, Room 210)
manages
capital improvement projects designed to
advance the goals of the City's Parks and Recreation
Master Plan and Open Space Element. The
Administration Division also provides support to the
City's
Recreation and Parks Commission.
The
Civic Auditorium Division manages operations and
events at the Civic Auditorium (1855 Main Street).
The
Community Programs
Division provides recreational
opportunities that enhance the health and well-being
of the whole community.
The
Cultural
Affairs Division enlivens the cityscape with
public art and cultural opportunities, and works to
encourage the participation of artists in the life
of the community.
The
Human Services Division
is responsible for social services including recreation,
education and community programs that address the
needs of infants, children, teens, families,
people with disabilities, seniors, victims of
domestic violence and low-income individuals, including
those who are homeless.
The
Open Space Management
Division develops policies
to aid in the active and passive enjoyment of city
parks, beach areas and public facilities.

Resident registration for summer break camps begins
March 12 and will continue until full; class and
workshop registration begins May 21. Non-resident
registration begins March 19 and May 28,
respectively.
