$18.20 per hour |
|
Major Duties: |
- Teaches swimming lessons to children and adults.
- Teaches special aquatic classes.
- Assists with coordinating various aquatic activities.
- Enforces swimming pool rules and regulations.
- Maintains order in and around the swimming pool.
- Performs aquatic emergency rescues when necessary;
- Administers artificial respiration and first aid when necessary.
- Keeps pools, decks, and dressing rooms clean and orderly.
- Completes attendance paperwork for permit groups, enforces schedule.
- Follows all applicable safety rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
|
Knowledge of:
|
|
|
Ability to:
- Teach proper swimming techniques and water safety.
- Work effectively with the public and other employees.
|
|
|
Skill in:
- Swimming.
- Lifeguarding, community first aid and CPR techniques.
- Reading, writing and communicating in English at an appropriate level.
|
|
|
Licenses and Certificates:
- Possession of a valid American Red Cross or
- state recognized certificate in the following:
- Community First Aid and Safety,
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer,
- Water Safety Instructor and
- Lifeguard Training.
|
|
Working Conditions: |
- The work is regularly performed indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions.
- May be required to work a varied schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Will be required to wear a uniform while on duty.
|
