$18.20 per hour

Major Duties:

• Teaches swimming lessons to children and adults.
• Teaches special aquatic classes. 
• Assists with coordinating various aquatic activities.
• Enforces swimming pool rules and regulations.
• Maintains order in and around the swimming pool.
• Performs aquatic emergency rescues when necessary;
• Administers artificial respiration and first aid when necessary.
• Keeps pools, decks, and dressing rooms clean and orderly.
• Completes attendance paperwork for permit groups, enforces schedule. 
• Follows all applicable safety rules and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Water safety practices.

• Teach proper swimming techniques and water safety.
• Work effectively with the public and other employees.

• Swimming.
• Lifeguarding, community first aid and CPR techniques.
• Reading, writing and communicating in English at an appropriate level.

• Possession of a valid American Red Cross or
• state recognized certificate in the following:
   - Community First Aid and Safety,
   - CPR for the Professional Rescuer,
   - Water Safety Instructor and
   - Lifeguard Training.

Working Conditions:

• The work is regularly performed indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions.
• May be required to work a varied schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Will be required to wear a uniform while on duty.
