Welcome to the New Ken Edwards Center!

NEW KEC Lobby NEW KEC Lunchroom  NEW KEC Meeting Room

On Monday, April 1st, the City and WISE & Healthy Aging welcomed the senior community to the newly renovated Ken Edwards Center (KEC).  Programming that has been housed at 1450 Ocean Avenue will be at KEC under the new umbrella of “Club 1527” created by WISE & Healthy Aging.  Club 1527 offers a range of activities for older adults, including socialization opportunities and workshops and classes designed to keep minds and bodies active.  The Healthy Lunches Program offers nutritional meals for seniors.   For more information and to find out how to join, you can view the latest Club 1527 newsletter HERE.

These activities combine with range of services that WISE & Healthy Aging provides on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the  Ken Edwards Center, including transportation assistance, case management, benefits assistance and supportive care, to make the KEC a “one stop shop” for all things related to the well-being of older adults.  You can find out about all of WISE & Healthy Aging’s programs here:   Parking information is available HERE.

Going forward, 1450 Ocean will host a multitude of activities for adults and seniors, including new arts and crafts workshops and seminars year-round.  Emeritus College will be providing classes in keeping with the cultural arts theme and the City will provide classes and workshops, including arts and crafts and healthy living offerings.  All of these activities are available to older adults, plus there will be time on weekday mornings when older adults are invited to use the Patio for reading, games and socialization.  You can find out more about activities at 1450 Ocean here:
