The City of Santa Monica, is inviting applications from qualified persons or organizations interested in providing Prepared and/or Pre-packaged Food Services at the Santa Monica Certified Farmers Markets.  Vendors will be selected for either on-going or seasonal services.  On-going vendors will be awarded an initial term of one to three (1-3) years and seasonal vendors will be awarded an initial term of one (1) day to three (3) months to be negotiated.

The Santa Monica Farmers Markets require all prepared and packaged food vendors to produce their products in a Certified Commercial Kitchen and do not accept Cottage Food Operations. Additionally, All farmers market vendors are responsible for compliance with the Health Code Requirements for Community Events in LA County.

(Note:  Only farmers are admitted to sell processed agricultural products such as cheese, oils, olives, juices, jams, nuts and pickles)

In addition to the stall fees each SMFMs vendor shall pay a legislative fee of $2.00 for each market attended.  These cumulative fees are then remitted to the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) on a quarterly basis.  The CDFA utilizes these fees to administer and regulate CFM’s throughout the state.

          1.  Complete the New Vendor Registration

3.  Find and open the bid.  Project Title:  RFP Farmers Market Prepared and Pre-Packaged Food, invitation #3-1-16
4.  At the top of the screen select tab for “Documents/Attachments”
5.  View or Download the RFP Document and Exhibits.
6.  Print only the necessary pages, some of the Exhibits are over 50 pages long and may be reviewed without printing.
7.  Attend one of the two MANDATORY scheduled Pre-Submittal Meetings.  In these meetings Farmers Market staff will give a brief presentation, review the application materials and answer any questions about the application and selection process.
