Featured Restaurants

Chef DemoTo support and foster a vibrant local economy, the Santa Monica Farmers Markets have a Featured Restaurant of the Week program. The Featured Restaurant of the Week Program is a unique marketing and revenue opportunity for local restaurants.  Each quarter qualified restaurants showcase foods from restaurant menus on a rotational basis.

Rate:  $125 per market day

How to Apply

Restaurants wishing to participate must hold a current City of Santa Monica business license in the business district of the farmers’ market where they wish to sell.  Qualified food establishments shall submit an application and will be placed in the next quarterly rotation with other qualified applicants in equal proportion.

Documentation

In order to participate, vendors must present the following :

  • Application
  • Board of Equalization Permit (for taxable products).
  • Current City of Santa Monica Business License.
  • Restaurant Health Permit

Upon acceptance, restaurants shall additionally obtain:

  • Temporary or Annual Field Event Health Permit (renewable quarterly) issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Health.
  • Proof of insurance

What equipment is provided for me? 

  • Canopy(ies) and sides
  • Legs and table tops (number dependent on each vendors needs, max 7 available)
  • Grill (downtown only)
  • 3 compartment warewash sink

What equipment do I need to bring? 

  • 1 health department approved hand washing station
  • Cooking equipment
  • Sampling set up (if sampling)

What else do I need to know? 

Zero Waste requirements

All Santa Monica Farmers Markets comply with the City wide Non-Recyclable Food Service Container Ban and additionally require vendors to use compostable cutlery and straws.

Paperwork

Prior to participation, each Farmers Market participant is required to sign a participation agreement and acknowledging receipt of the Farmers Market Rules and Regulations as well as sign a hold harmless agreement.  Once scheduled, restaurants will need to purchase a Temporary Field Event Permit from the Los Angeles County Health Department (310) 665-8463.
