Food and Lodging

Food and beverages may be purchased at several concession stands and restaurants north and south of the Santa Monica Pier.  Hours of operation are seasonal and may vary from site to site.  In addition to the following beach locations, restaurants and food concessions are also available on the Pier:

Rentals

Skate, bike, and surf board rentals, as well as various retail items, are available at locations north and south of the Pier. Hours of operation are seasonal and may vary from site to site.

Restrooms/Outdoor Showers

Public restroom facilities with outdoor rinse-off showers are available north and south of the Santa Monica Pier.  Restroom facilities are open to the public every day from 5:00 am to dusk.  They are located at:

• #11: 1100 Palisades Beach Road
• #12: 1200 Palisades Beach Road
• #15: 1500 Palisades Beach Road

Lifeguards

Lifeguard services at Santa Monica State Beach are provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Towers 2-16 are located north of the Pier; towers 17 – 29 are located south of the Pier. Staffing of the lifeguard towers varies seasonally from tower to tower. The lifeguards are authorized to monitor water and beach safety and beachgoers must obey their direction at all times. Accessibility

Several wooden pathways leading from the parking lots to the sand are available on both the north and south sides of the Pier. These pathways provide beach access to individuals with disabilities.

Locations south of Pier:

Just south of Ocean Park Blvd.

At Bay Street (between Bicknell and Pico Blvds.)

At Arcadia Terrace

Location north of Pier:

Immediately north of Pier.

The City of Santa Monica provides all-terrain wheelchairs, at no charge, to individuals with disabilities. They can be checked out at Perry’s Café (930 PCH and 2400 Ocean Front Walk).
