Operating Budget Reports
This is the adopted Rent Control Agency budget for the current fiscal year. The document also includes revenue projections, an overview of the Agency organization and goals and departmental descriptions. Operating budget reports for the upcoming July to June fiscal year are approved by the Board following a public hearing in June.
Consolidated Annual Report
The Consolidated Annual Report combines the substance of three reports issued independently in previous years (through 2011): Rent Control Board Annual Reports, Impact of the Ellis Act, and Impact of Market Rate Vacancies (See below for previous individual reports.). When considered together, these reports present yearly information regarding the status of controlled rental housing as well as a summary of the Board's and Agency's activities during the year.

Annual General Adjustment Reports
Through 2012, staff of the Rent Control Board would each year review changes in apartment operating costs and prepare a report recommending a general rent adjustment to the Board. (The reports prepared in past years are available through the links below.) The Rent Control Board held a public hearing in early June where they would decide the annual increase that would apply to all eligible controlled units. Since 2013, after the citizens of Santa Monica voted to change how the annual general adjustment was calculated, these reports are no longer prepared. Instead, each year the Board adopts a resolution announcing what the general adjustment will be for that year based primarily on the increase in the Consumer Price Index for the Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange County region. The annual resolutions may be viewed using the "Rent Control Law & Regulations" link in the blue box on the upper left of the Rent Control homepage.
