Landscape: Sustainable Landscape Grant Program
|

Transforming Santa Monica’s traditional landscaping to types suitable to our California coastal region is one of the most important challenges before local government. Why? Because sustainable landscaping practices save water, lots of it, with intelligent plant selection and advanced irrigation systems, and they significantly reduce air pollution, water pollution and solid waste generation. What’s more, they are beautiful. It is a win-win for everyone involved. However, sometimes homeowners and businesses need a little nudge in order to get going. Thus, the grant program was introduced with great success. Since 2005, over $350,000 has been awarded to home-owners, apartment owners, businesses and schools.
Applications accepted (while funds available): November 2008 – December 2009 |
