The Big Blue Bus Student Art Program
Each year the Big Blue Bus conducts an art program for children in grades K – 4 designed to teach them about public transit. Over 1,200 children yearly participate in the program that involves the children by having them drawing pictures that are displayed on the buses. The kids get to ride in a Big Blue Bus and receive a tour of the Big Blue Bus facility. During the tour information is provided on everything from how to ride a bus to environmental messages. reDiscover’s field trip program serves K-2 students with a hands-on opportunity to explore the idea of cast-off materials as a resource for creativity. The 2-hour program introduces students to the concepts of resource conservation (sustainability), community stewardship and concludes with a hands-on creative group assemblage project.
