City of Santa Monica Takes Another Step in Promoting Sustainable Design. All Projects Receiving a LEED Rating Will Get Expedited.
When submitting a new project that is intended to get a LEED rating, please provide a copy of the application that has been submitted to the U.S. Green Building Council with an application number at the time of submittal to the Building & Safety permit specialist. The Green Building coordinator in the City will then verify the accuracy of the application and if it meets the submittal criteria. We will then place an “expedite” status on the project for all the entities within the City that review the project. This will reduce the initial plan check review by one week.
